i was backing into the driveway at about 2245 and noticed i had no reverse lights. i sat there and played with the fuse and the shifter. the light will flicker on and off for about a second. what i noticed is that it seems like something at the base of the shifter handle makes an electrical contact, and that contact isn't being made properly. the fuse, bulbs, and wiring in between work, but something in the shifting mechanism is hinky. any ides?

      so my car is at the shop, and the neutral safety switch is good, but they are going to replace the bushings. that should solve the issue.

      i took a few things apart and had a look at it. i see what you're talking about. im going to have a real mechanic mess with it because im not comfortable fooling around with something that important. i did find 35 cents and two good fuses crudded to the bottom of the shifter well.
