Gone, but not forgotten 200 1986

Well, it finally happened. My '86 sedan tried to mate with a Magnolia tree on Thursday and the relationship just didn't work out....especially for me. It made it to 504,699 miles before that fatefull afternoon. It took the hit surprisingly well at 45mph. I had no ill effects except for a little soreness over the weekend Now I'm having to look for another car. A Volvo of course. I'd like to find a nice rust free automatic 245 if anyone out there knows of one. I'm near Jacksonvile, FL, so a 6 hour radius would be a comfortable driving range for finding one. I'll be keeping alot of parts and listing alot that I won't need on TurboBricks soon. Thanks to everyone who helped me keep "Sputnik" (which my oldest daughter named it years ago) alive and well over the years. I'll let you all know what I finally get as its replacement.

Ouch! That hurts to hear, Bob, on many levels. Glad you're okay.

Over 500,000 miles and gave its life to save yours. You should write to Volvo, or your local dealer or something. That's a story worth repeating!

    Hi Xraybob

I am sorry to hear that...

Try to take a hot bath filled with epsom salt for 30 minutes, then switch to a cold bath filled with ice for 30 minute everyday.

    Hope you can recover soon.

Turned out I just installed a new receiver drier and expansion, rented the vacuum pump and manifold gauges from Autozone and 2 hrs later I was at 56F and only spent $50 on it. As for the accident, my blood sugar was out of wack and I ended up getting off the road too fast and too far to the right where the tree was living. A 2ft diameter Magnolia tree didn't give, but the car did exactly what it was supposed to do......crumple and keep me safe to buy another.
