6842410 FPR no longer available - Now what? 900 1994

Well I knew it would happen one day... Parts would become hard to find for my beloved "Fiona". She's been bogging down on acceleration and getting more finicky in how and when she choses to start. Through a couple of test I know she needs a new fuel pressure regulator. It's probably the original one... GOOD GRIEF! Can't they make anything to last these days? ;) The PROBLEM? She's a Regina.... I know I know! NOBODY has this part! My Dad sent me a 9146761... but it doesn't line up properly.... and I'm not ready to start McGyvering brackets just yet. I have heard that the Bosch version works just peachy ( 0280160294) But does it FIT... is my question. Does it line up and bolt on without any modifications? Any help would be appreciated!

I'm quite new here.... and I'm not sure how people have what they have at the bottom of their comments? So I'll just tell you here... MY BRICK... RED 1994 940 Estate w/240K, 1997 850T w/200K, 2004 S60 90K.

ANSWER 6842410 FPR no longer available - Now what? 900 1994

    Dear srivesafely68,

Hope you're well. Tasca Volvo (http://www.tascaparts.com/parts/1994/VOLVO/940/index.cfm?searchText=6842410&siteid=213668&year=1994&make=VOLVO&model=940&submodel=&vehicleid=1433978 ) seesm to have part #6842410.

Further, Rock Auto's website shows a Standard Motor product is available and will fit. (STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PR428 {#13895644, 68424100} Intermotor; Direct OE Replacement[ Rex Regina ] ).

While I have not yet had to change a fuel pressure regulator (FPR), Brickboard posts by those, who have swapped a Bosch FPR for a Regina FPR, lead me to think the Bosch fuel pressure regulator will fit without modification.

    Hope this helps.

    Yours faithfully,

    Spook

Thank you so much! I called my local parts supplier this morning and they had it in stock for $57.00. It bolted straight on :) No more bogging down on acceleration and starts the first time!

Hello, Spook is right, the bosch will replace the narrow regina, use a good lubricant on the "O" ring and it will just bolt in place.

        It fits 900 1994

Did it last week. BTW the O-rings can get distorted/mangled if you aren't careful. The O-ring is the exact same one used to hold the fuel injectors to the rail. Hehe I mangled my old one on a Sunday and had to scramble to find a replacement....I remembered I had salvaged a set of fuel injectors....wala!

          Voilà 900 1994

          Dear The Rod,

Hope you're well. The last word of your post should read "voilà", a French word that has many meanings, among which are "That's it!!" or "Done!!" or "There it is!! (in the sense of coming to a conclusion about something).

"Voilà" is pronounced "Vwah-lah", with the "V" sounding as does the "ve" in "verb".

          Hope this helps.

          Yours faithfully,

          Spook
