J type overdrive VS. m41 120-130

There is a J type overdrive on ebay stated to be from a mid '70s volvo.
At first glance it would seem easier to attach this to my m40 in my P220 than to change the whole transmission.

Add offers the input shaft and driveshaft as well.

Can anyone tell me the difference between adding the overdrive vs. changing the transmission.
