vacuum leaks 700 1990

Took my 740 turbo wagon to the dealer for a diagnostic due to constant stalling. The test revealed the following, exhaust manifold leak, engine has a vacuum leak, engine idles low. Anyone of these repairable by me? Is this a question of gasket replacement? Not fond of dealer doing the job due to lack of big$$$.

First thing I would do is check/replace all vacuum lines on the engine. You can go to Napa and buy line in various sizes by the foot. That should help a lot. The exhaust manifold, if really leaking, is usually heard. It's a bit more pain to remove and replace gaskets, especially as 20 yr old studs might break, but it's doable. Idle may fix itself once you fix vacuum leaks. good luck.

What he said. The common vac line leaks are the ones to the charcoal canister and the 'flame trap' holder elbow, which on a turbo does not actually have a flame trap in it, but the lines still leak.
Also check all the hoses from the turbo to the intake; there are many junctions.
