214,000 Miles - Photos After Wash and Wax 200

I was bored yesterday and thought about fishing, but didn't feel up to going without Jr. So I washed and waxed my 1992 Volvo instead. It rolled over 214,000 miles on Friday.

Beautiful! Real fine to see one cared for so nicely.. I had a lovely silver 83" turbo 245 sweet baby she was.. older couple ran a stop sign downtown and I "T-boned" them @ 35mph... "Silver" was totaled.. although I did just have a sighting ten years after.. Silver was driving down the road with the hood still akimbo... I miss her she was one of a kind.. I was second owner and it was perfect.. till I totaled her.. that was #5 volvo total for me.. so sad to say, but they all saved my life, walked away in tact each time. CHP said I was "lucky", I said it wasn't luck, I drove Volvo on purpose..

From 27 to 513000 miles in the UK 200

Love to these cars. That is one beauty.

      Got mine in July 1989

      Never want to change.

I see your back sills (sorry UK term) need a blacking up to give a good contrast to the shinning silver contrast body,

Do you have that liquid black shoe shine with a foam top? Shake it up and do sills, rubber window parts... any thing back..

    Nice ride!

I have a tangential question since you posted a picture of your engine bay. Might be a dumb one, but here goes. Does your AC hose rub up against the metal nipple on the fuel pressure regulator constantly threatening a vacuum leak?

I've noticed mine doing this. I even found a split in the vacuum line a couple of weeks ago. I've considered a trip to the junkyard to find one of those brackets that I've seen on other models to hold the hose out of the way. Any idea which models have those? My 91 wagon doesn't.

As I write this I realize that my AC is toast and I would probably have to replace the hose if I fixed it. Maybe I'll just take the hose off.

    Best,
    Spencer

    Ooooooph, now that's just lovely.

Wish my 1992 looked so nice.

Maybe add some nice OEM strut tower to firewall bars.

And that's M47 II manual transmission equipped.

Keep on bricking, and Swedish Iron rolling, and what have you!

Your brick does look nice. Im curious what wax u used? I used to use Maguiars(sp?) until I 'discovered' Wolfgangs Paint Sealer at about $40 per 16 ounce bottle. Pricey but outperforms waxes, (IMO of course) and has a silicone base. (no wax)

    http://www.autogeek.net/wg5500.html

Wolfgangs sealer is not a wax or cleaner, but as I said, a paint sealer, meant to enhance and keep the 'current shine' and goes a LONG ways. Other than that I've always thought Maguiars is as good as one can get.

We had the brick painted not that long ago, (December 2011) so using a sealer to keep the shine works for us.

Good job! Always nice to see a well kept clean looking brick.

Meguiars works for me. I need a buffer.

I always wanted a Buffer too. My fingertips get worn out after a waxing.
There's enough big open Hood, roof and , in my case. trunk that a buffer would be nice.
