Will a 240 radiator fit later models (740, 760, 850, 940, 960)? 200 1979

I have an almost new (1 month old) 240 Volvo OEM (Valeo)(P/N 8603911) radiator on my hands as my 1979 non-turbo 244GL died after 34 years and 571,000 km. I am hoping to sell it to a later model owner as not too many 240s left where I live. Can anyone advise if it fits non-turbo 740, 760, 850, 940, 960?

    Will a 240 radiator fit later models (740, 760, 850, 940, 960)? 200 1979

    Hi,
Just changed out radiators in a couple of our cars. The radiators for our 89 and 90 240s are different than our 92 and 93 940s.

There are 3 different rad sizes for 940/960 series, the small one (450x420 core) is the same size as a stock 240 rad. The medium one (590x420 core) is I think fitted to the 240 Turbo and will bolt into a standard 240. See comment below. The large one (590x498 core) won't fit a 240. Depending on what you are mixing and matching the fan shroud/mount will likely have to be trimmed on the air box side. Unless you really love the 240 fan roar, going electric is the way to go and standard parts will bolt right in.

Will not fit an 850 or 960. They are all-aluminum 5 and 6 cylinder engines.

Doubt it will fit a 940 either. IMHO - Your best bet is a 740 or 760 but I really have no idea. Let's see what others say...
