Warning: Volvo fun only. You will not learn anything technical...Best Volvo 240-specific song EVER! 200

Local Seattle rapper Grynch has put together the best song about a Volvo ever, and it's specific to the 240. He has an '86 240 wagon in silver and it's featured in this video.

Be aware there are lots of "F" bombs!

I know there's probably plenty of people on the brickboard who can't stand 1 mintute of rap, and it's not my favorite format either, but this is funny. I love the lines about the vents looking like Oreos, having breakpads in the backseat and breaking down on I-5.

Now you'll be bobbing your head to the chorus next time you go out and drive your V-O-L-V-O MY Volvo...

Hope you enjoy it.

Jason

Just re-watched the rap video... 200

I am not a fan of rap music, or hip-hop, or whatever it's called these days, but I just re-watched this video for the first time in probably a year, and recognized somebody: one of the rappers is Macklemore, another Seattle based musician who made it big this past year with his song, Thrift Shop" which hit number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I notice the Volvo song hasn't charted yet...

Whoa!! Great catch! I haven't watched it in a long time either and, yep, there's Macklemore lip syncing the hook!

I liked the rap video better. For one thing, there were no emo girls killing shopkeepers with a baseball bat so they could steal booze.

I'll play. Here's my favorite Volvo content in a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW6ZXHWvaGc

A lot of people on this forum could use a Snickers these days.

The hate from opinion forum is spilling over here.

Seems that way, Dan. You'll notice I have never posted in OPINIONS. There are about three people in this world whose opinions I care about, and I trust there are about as many people who care about mine.

But what I really want to know is: How the heck did they wedge Aretha Franklin into the back seat of a 240?

Pretty good i've heard a lot more flaming offensive (although with my oxygen turned up, I don't hear nearly as much now). A commendable effort.

You know, I appreciate your enthusiasm and I don't mean to rain on your parade but this is like the umpteenth time someone has posted about this. Which is fine. I don't moderate content here. I'm glad you like it.

But here is a favorite clip of mine that sort of sums up my feelings on the matter. It also contains a couple of F-bombs.

Wow. You know, I haven't been on the BB much in the past 18 months, but I certainly have a decent history of posting plenty of informative and helpful responses as well as asking questions that help all my fellow BB'ers.

And Don, I recognize you and your many positive contributions to the BB in the years I've participated here. But frankly, the inference from your "response" is pretty shocking to me. In fact, it makes me feel like I'm a total a-hole for even posting this in the first place and that if the world were run your way, people that "think they are so smart" would be taken down by the people like you that think they are truly smarter than everyone else.

I apologize for repeating something others have already shared on the BB. Perhaps I should have held off my enthusiasm for the love of my car, and sharing some popular culture that was new to me and gone ahead shared it in some other forum?

Effectively, I feel like someone just took a big leak on the laughter that I enjoyed from some doofus suburban white kid and his pals rapping about the cars we all enjoy and are the reason we all share what we do on this forum.

While you might not moderate content on the Brickboard, I feel like your response effectively is saying, "this doesn't belong here and neither do you."

Jason
