92 740T wagon 3800rpm cutout 700 1992

under hard acceleration, engine revs fine until rpm hits 3800 and then slams down like it hit a governor or some thing... I did read somewhere about a possible bent rpm sensor plate possibly being bent while changing a timing belt. (this was done recently) Where is this plate found? could this be possible?
Thanks for any help

hoses seem ok , but i'll pull the one to turbo tomorrow, the other post mentioned if someone used a screw driver on the fly wheel, to hold(jam it while changing the timing belt. might be possible, i'll check with the mech who did the job, thanks for thoughts

Do you have an "idiot" boost gauge or "psi" gauge? You may be hitting the limiter/psi setting. If not, I would be looking at all boost hoses for splits/cracks. It may also be soft and collapsing. If you are referring to the "rpm" sensor, it's on the bell housing. Not anywhere near the timing belt.
