Engine mount question related to B230FT swap 200

Hi all,

I am about to swap a B230FT into a car which came with a B21. Both cars use a manual M46 so I assume the transmission mount stays the same; however, part numbers for the motor mounts are not the same. I would assume (most dangerous word in the English language) that the difference is in the portion of the mount that contacts the engine, not the chassis, but you know what happens when you assume.

So, my question is... do I order the mounts for the chassis (the car the B230FT is going into) or for the engine (the car the B230FT is coming from)? Or do I need something altogether different? The car gaining the new powerplant is a 1979 242GT, and the donor is a 1986 744Ti. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

~Sam

My old RPR catalog lists the same motor mts for all 240s 76 thru 93 --these are the Rubber parts.

    Left 274110
    Right 274111

it does note that for the B240turbo the Right Mt can also use 1272676-OE as well as the above listed 274111

since you will be using the motor mt brackets from the original 240..
the aluminum parts that bolt to the block and to the cross member ...you want the 240 rubber mts. The Rubber is held between these alum brackets

Trans mt 1221967 same for both 240 and 740

The 740 series uses different Motor mts and with diff brackets. Different cross member.
    R and L 1273946 Rubber Mt
    700Turbo B23FT/B230FT

If you can get the engine mount made for the turbo 240 that's what you should use. Also, there's a heat shield that covers the mount on the turbo side. Your B21F brackets will bolt to the B230 block. -- Dave

I purchased a NOS left side mount off craigslist but it didn't come with nuts or washers. Can I reuse the ones on the car? Also, is the left side the driver's side?
