California auto insurance for 122s cars 120-130

Howdy:

Can anyone from California share information about insurance costs to be daily drivers in their 122s? And what about emissions? We don't have this regulation in Florida.

We may have an opportunity to move to California so I need to know what to expect if I am to still keep my 122s.

Thanks!

You're 122 will be exempt from emission testing in California. As it stands now only cars that are model year 1976 and later require smog checks. This may change at some point, but that's how it is now.

As for insurance, a stated value policy may be your best bet. Most classic insurance has limits on miles driven, locked garage storage, etc.. A Stated Value policy is an agreed value for your car. Your car will need to be inspected by the insurance company and they will give you a number. I am not an insurance agent, so you will need to check with one that does business in Cali.

    Good luck!

But be careful because even some "agreed value" policies have limitations on use.
      Do your homework.

Yes, my policies have a pre agreed to loss coverage. Coverage automatically increases every year by 10%, as well as the premium, but it is very cheap. Both cars are just under $300 for the yaer combined. I can drive 5,000 miles with each car but the things I can use it for are limited. Also only drivers with a valid license for 10 years are covered.

My friend just moved back there, nothing is cheap.
