does anyone know if for 1993 volvo eliminated the gray junction connector on the engine side of the firewall just behind drivers side of the valve cover which handles 4 wires from the engine harness and then into the cluster area inside the car?

these wires colors are:

red
black (oil sender wire)
yellow (water temp sender wire)
blue yellow

yes it is gone for 93.

1993 - is there a connector, at the firewall, for the blue yellow from the NSS (neutral safety switch)to the starter motor?
Anyone know where it is?
Resistence on this wire, on my 1993, varies from 0.1 ohms to 2.0 ohms.
When it is 2.0, to start the car I have to pop the hood and jump from the battery to the starter motor.

If you can ever see the resistance in a wire with an ohmmeter, it is a corroded connection providing it, and it won't be stable. You could hack a lighter relay in there (the starter solenoid is a relay) as a short cut, but you'll be back into it as the corrosion continues. A pro wouldn't do this unless he likes seeing you back in the shop.

Now, I would do it (cuz I'm a hacker and I love seeing my customers back) but with full knowledge I'll be doing a rescue or teaching my kids to poke screwdrivers at starter wiring.

Where to where are you measuring the resistance? I have a book on the early prod 93's but not one on the late ones with the battery-mounted fuse array. The Mitchell drawing is the only one I have for that and it disappoints me with mistakes.

Install a relay, as long as the wire will send voltage it will energize the relay. a 30 amp 4 prong will do fine and they are available everywhere, stay away from Autozone and Advance auto junk.
