Leaky Oil Cooler Compression fitting 9turbo) 700

Hey everybody.

On my 90 740Ti (with a 94 B230ft L-block), I've got an oil leak.

One of the two compression fittings leading from the block to the oil cooler is leaking. I found it was leaking on a long trip. I cranked down on it harder and it stopped, but I still have a few drips if I push the car over 3500rpm (fooling around, getting on the freeway, I do it a couple times a month).

I replaced the engine 2 years ago and when I did, I used one line from my engine, and one from a different car due to wear. Should and Can I replace the lines? I think maybe Napa can make one for me.
I don't see any damage to either surface of the fitting, but I know it was mated to a different surface in the first place.

Does anyone have recommendations on what to do about this leak? To be clear, it's on the block side of the oil-cooler setup.

Happy Bricking

Anybody else? Is it unusual that these compression fittings are leaking? Do I need to replace the hoses with new? Anything wrong with using a used oil-cooler line? Maybe I need a new female seat for it instead of blaming the line itself.

Not sure about the lines Will, but am recalling that you did the motor swap at a DIY place in SF. Is that place still there do you know, and the name?
It seems you did get the car mostly sorted, which after all the work you put in, I'm sure you're happy about.

Yes indeed! It's still there. They're actually opened more of them. The higher ups weren't entirely pleased at me doing the motor swap on a car that really needed it, and taking about 6 days to do it, but nobody tried to stop me.

It's called TechShop. I worked at the Palo Alto one, and they have one in San Jose I think now. They have a website with their updates. It's a great place to work on hobbies. They have a 3-d printer too, which is really cool, and a lot of stuff for electronics, grinders, welding booths (they make you take welding classes from them before you can use them), a bunch of hand tools, computers w/autodesk software, and a bit more. They have a sewing machine room, screen printing?, Some sort of plastic molding, a bunch of semi-organized handtools, and some more. The one place I worked had free coffee all the time too.
I think it was like $25 a day or $100 a month for membership, but that was a few years ago.

I did get it overall sorted, and I'm really pleased that I finished it up. Every time I drive it, it's rewarding :D

      Cheers Jerry
