Steering coupling u-joint (lower) brand differences? 200 1989

Is there a difference? I notice the OEM Volvo is discontinued.. But what about the aftermarket brands? Any one better than the other? Or are they all pretty much the same?

If you care to save a few bucks---I have a collection of good original Volvo 240 steering shaft u-joints. You can take a ride to Bay Shore and pick one up--or I can mail one to you. six-three-one-968-8933 ---- Dave

Thanks for the offer! My friend already has one.. A Scan Tech I believe?... Whatever FCP sells. Hard to say if a used original one would be better than a brand new aftermarket.. Question: do you have other parts available?.. Im looking for an elusive piece for a wagon seatback. Let me know if you might, so we could talk.

As for that U-joint, I wouldn't think it makes much difference... Granted, it's got a lot of flex, but it's not a heavily taxed part as far as U-joints go. Just make sure it's well lubed upon installation.

As for your seatback part.. feel free to email. I have access to a few donor wagons, ranging from '81 (I think) to '88 (I think). All cars well abused, so if it's a part prone to breakage... it's probably broke.
