1975 164 in Denver for sale - $600 140-160

Somebody is looking for one:

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3573755165.html

It's not mine, but would hate to see it go to the junkyard. I don't need another project.

I do have a M410 available.

Paul

Hi Guys:
Is there any difference between an M410 from a 164 and one from a '70 1800E?

Thanks
Bob

The B20 and B30 versions of the M410 do not interchange, unfortunately. The input shafts and bell housings are different.

Phil S----I was following this post when I saw your entry. I've had a parts M410 sitting in my basement for years. If it had a bellhousing I'd know which car it was for. I never thought about the input shafts being different. Does the 1800 M410 take the same clutch as the m40/41? -- then I can compare it to the M40 boxes stored away. Will have to examine them when I return home. I'd like to know which car it's for--so the right person can have it. Otherwise it's going for scrap. -- Dave

Yes, the B20 version uses the same clutch as the M40/41. It wouldn't fit on the B30 version input shaft, so that's a definitive test.

Kinda makes me sad to see this car come up time and and time again. Really looks like a decent candidate for a refresh to make it a driver. Unfortunately, like you, I don't need another project. And I, too, have a M410 (though don't have an 8 bolt 164 flywheel)

But damn. Steel prices as they are, I expect you'd be looking at $400 from the scrap yard, and you can keep the spiffy wheels.... at absolute worse case.

But I reckon it'd be worth saving.

Any event, ny Colorado folks... parts for this are available somewhat locally between me and Paul and a few others in the area.

So I went by and took a look at it. It's in OK shape. There is rust around both rear wheel wells, and around the windshield. He said that it has some underneath too (I didn't look). Some surface rust on the roof. It does have a nice pair of front seats. Look like Recaros.
