The intake gasket I replaced a couple years ago needs to be replaced. I recall it seeming ill fitting when I installed it, but deemed it sufficient to proceed. Seemed like it was designed to be used on at least one oher type of intake. Anyway, any recomendations as to Brand(there should be a question mark here but my keyboard sucks!).

    Hope you're well. In addition to Volvo brand products, gaskets made by Elring and Reinz seem to be of good quality.

    I wonder if you installed the gasket front to back---I think it can fit over the studs that way but it looks not quite right. There is a part of the gasket that fits over a freeze plug on one end and you snip the corresponding part at the other end (been a while--think it gets snipped at the temp sensor). That gasket may double for use in a carbureted model--I don't know for sure. As for brand--you can't go wrong with a Volvo original part--but one from any major gasket maker should work ok. -- Dave
