Hi guys, I have just learned that TME is no longer making coil springs for the RWD cars. I need a pair of fronts for my wagon, at this point Id be happy even with stock, new, used, whatever fits. I have found a company called panther performance in the UK that is selling them but the overseas shipping is half the cost of the parts. I do not have a year to wait for VPD to maybe ship me something either.

Does anyone have something in the shed that might help me out? Ive looked in the obvious Volvo classifieds with no luck.

    Hi guys, I'm resurrecting this thread because I found a good source for 140 springs and I know how few domestic sources we seem to have and id like to make things easier for you guys too. I've always figured there must be somewhere to affordably order them by size and spring weight, turns out summit racing offers plenty of options for pretty good prices if you just search for them based on diameter length and weight.

    maybe some of you could chime in and we could compile some data regarding lengths and spring weights so that those of us looking for springs could make educated purchases.

    here is a rough idea of what i've dug up so far, still pretty vague but thats where you guys could add your 2 cents:

    Stock - 12" 300 lbs./in.

    lowering- 11" 450+/-
    sport - 10.5" 600+/-
    race - 10"- 800+/-

    be careful what you wish for... I recently bought a full set for my 72 145 wagon from skandix... One of the front springs sagged badly. they blaming it on a "bad shock" despite insisting it isnt the cause (I KNOW it's not the cause). They refuse to make it right. Now i have 2 large spacers in the spring just so i can drive the car without lean. I do have a new unused pair of rear skandix springs for a 140 for sale if needed.

    If you don't connect with "Volvo from Heck" i also have a set of front springs from a 1972 142S

    I do, literally, have a pair of front springs from a '73 140 in my shed. They were part of a front subframe and rear axle I bought--I never saw the actual car.
