NEED HELP distributor screw 1800

In replacing my points I seemed to have lost the very small screw that attaches the points to the bottom plate. Can any one tell me where to get a replacement or the actual size of the screw. This is a 1972 B20F.
Thanks

NEED HELP distributor screw 1800

Hello,

IIRC, all of the screws that hold the breaker plate, vacuum chamber, condenser and points are all the same thread.

And all of those screws are the same length, except for the points screw which is a little longer than the rest.

I think all of the screws are metric, so take one of the screws to a hardware store, have them check the threads and buy a replacement screw that is a little longer than your example.

You do need to make sure the replacement points screw is not too long or it will interfere with the rotating parts below the breaker plate.

Good luck!!

I'm sure that among the 20+ distributors I have saved there's a loose screw you can have---or is it that I have a screw loose (what my wife thinks)? Contact me at---fastforwardphoto(AT)yahoo(DOT)com---and you can have a screw loose too. I'll be heading to the post office today or tomorrow--will wait for your reply to me. -- Dave
