Does anyone know what is the vacuum pressure measured at the intake at idle?

Thanks
Fred

After years of no carb'd cars I went looking for my vacuum gauge without success. A couple years ago I bought a new one, and connected it to our 89 just to get a reference reading. Warmed up, idling, 18 inches.

Nearly all cars that I know of will show about 15-16 inches of vacuum at idle (and light cruise) -- it will spike up to around 25 on deceleration under load. -- Dave

Thanks for the info, Dave. I was thinking along those lines, but just wanted a second source.
