Hello all, the saga continues but I am almost done with a water pump / timing belt / bushings / belt job. I swear that replaces all the old bushings in the same directions that the old ones came out but the alternator can slide back and forth my the bottom alternator bolt. I currently have the bushings installed from the outside, ie front bushing has the big end facing forward, back bushing has the back end facing back. Looking at this picture (not mine) it appears that both bushings should be facing in (ie toward the alternator).

Can anyone confirm this?

    Hi,

    The lower alternator bushings in the pic are how mine are and usually there is a flat washer between the front bushing's flange and the alternator.

    However in the picture the one thing that seems wrong to me is that the upper bushing on the alt's adjustment arm is wrong-the bushing should be reversed. The bushing's flange should be against the engine.

      That does help, there was not a washer on the bottom bushing between the alt and bushing. I also noticed that the upper mount in the picture was off. I have my as you stated.
