Hello,
I have no experience with this seal and if it does not seal properly, you can get exhaust fumes in the car.
If you did not have this problem before, it makes sense that the seal may be the cause.
Have you washed the car?
If water leaks into the trunk, then the trunk seal may not be doing its job.
Before condemning the seal, is there any chance the trunk lid or the rear of the car is damaged so that the seal is not making proper contact in all areas?
What condition is your fuel filler neck grommet?
