Bulb supplier? 200 1989

Does anyone know of a place that sells quality bulbs, for let's say the brake lights?... Or is the dealership the only place to go?... Everywhere I see it's cheap China made bulbs. Is there a place for Cibie bulbs? Do they even make them anymore?
The reason I ask is I've been getting the dreaded "bulb failure" light on the right rear brake light.. It tends to burn out faster when I replace it with a cheapo china bulb. And I'd like to replace the pair before I dive into hard wiring or worse replacing the whole thing. Any help on this issue would uh, help..

I've usually had good luck with Sylvania bulbs.

One tip I picked up along the way is to replace them in pairs (L&R). That way a slight resistance inbalance between the two sides doesn't give false indications or flickers on the bulb failure indicator light.

After numerous tail light burnouts happening every few weeks, I finally bit the bullet and bought replacement tail lights (circuit board and all) from IPD. On my '93 the lights were cracked and water would seep in there and eventually blow the bulb- first the right side one would go, then few weeks later the driver's side would expire, then the other side again, first brake, then tail lights etc over and over. Since I put in the IPD ones no problems so I think water infiltration was my biggest problem. But I'm about to do the ceramic fuse replacement suggested by BORK^3 in the preventive maintenance thread as well to see if that helps also. Recently blew out my third brake light bulb so I have this nagging feeling there's still some funny business occasionally happening through the electrical system so I figure the fuse replacement can't hurt!

Hi,

When I purchased new OEM sedan taillights last year they came with the run of the mill Sylvania bulbs. Not sure if would get something different from the dealer or not. Make sure you're taillight gasket isn't leaking or the lenses-that's what kept on killing the bulbs in my old taillight housing.

Try replacing the bulb with whatever you find and when you put the socket back into the Circuit board, don't fully rotate it. Let the contacts on the Socket touch ' Fresh' copper on the Circuit board. see if that helps you.

Also, the Bulbs with the Tin finish seems to be better the the Brass. less oxidation, I guess
