B230 engine swap 700 1991

Hello,

Has anyone pulled a B230 from a 740 without the standard wheeled engine crane
style hoist? If so I'd appreciate the details.

B230 engine swap 700 1991

I am not an expert,It can be done, however it will require some creative rigging and a sturdy structure over the vehicle to rig off of. I intend to do mine soon. with a setup that i used to swap a 3.0 in a merc. the structure should be able to support at least 5 times the weight of the engine. Do the math it's mutch safer that way. finding information on structural beams, columns,or wood fraiming may be dificult.I had to set up to move the vehicle rather than the rigging after i pulled the engine. then droped the engine on a dollie so i could rig up the other engine. I then hoisted the new engine moved the car back into position. I then installed the engine. honestly for all the hastle it may have been mutch easier to buy a used hoist on craigss list and resell it wen i was done. I cant seem to resist a challenge.
