Best place to buy replacement sedan carpet 200 1986

I'm looking to change up the look of my interior on my '86 240 sedan from the black/dark grey to the tan version. I'd like to replace the carpet with a new fresh tan in the same texture the cars came with in the 2 piece style (front and rear). Does anyone out there have any experience or suggestions as to where I might start to look? I'm also looking for manual crank window door cards in tan also, but those can be from the later '90's texture/style to match the late model seat skins I already have ready to install.

Thanks in advance.

    X-
I have no experience with carpet replacement and don't know your budget but SCANCAR.nl in the Netherlands offers replacement carpet for 240s and they might have something that would work for you.

also, VP-Autoparts.com provides interior restoration parts many older Volvo models preceding the 240. They may be able to point you to their Swedish supplier who could help with later model 240 carpet.

let us know what you decide to do.

I have never bought replacement carpet, but JC Whitney used to sell it, and all of the aftermarket custom molded carpet panels looked to be about the same price/quality to me.

My question is WHY?? The black interior was so easy to keep clean, aged better, and just generally felt more subdued and relaxing than the tan/beige. The only benefit to beige is keeping cooler in the summer, but I would trade that in a heartbeat for some good solid black insides.

    Hey, take before/after pics!

12 years and 300K miles ago when I first bought the car, it was all tan. Nasty and faded, so I changed it out to the black. Now that it's almost at 500K miles I've sorta gotten bored with it. I have a perfect set of tan skins front and rear and the fact I'm the only one driving it, it'll be easy to keep from getting dirty. The exterior paint is the dark grey metallic, so to brighten it up inside (it has tinted windows all around) I've been throwing around the idea. It's such an easy modification and if I get bored with it in another 10 yrs., I can switch it back. Anyone out there have any really nice tan manual door cards for the sedan??

Neat. I hope to have mine long enough to get tired of the interior twice!

Like I said, all the aftermarket "fitted" carpet makers seem to offer about the same thing. I was looking, once, because my tan carpet was dingy and flaking. I finally found some very good black carpet to replace it.

I still like the idea of some of the funkier colors the aftermarket places offer. Like the dark red. Would look positively opulent with a black interior. That's just my nuttiness, though.

Please let us know how it goes - I still wonder about those "custom" fit panels, and whether the carpet is as good as Volvo original.
