    Good Mechanic needed 1998

He's a aways out there, yet Kurt at Absolute Swedish in New Haven, MO.

Kurt is fair and cheap(er), yet you have to get the car to him or he'll pick it up.

Stay away from Auto Evaluators. Bad, bad, bad.

There's Howard Erlanger and his Sports Car Centre in Fenton, MO.
1866 Larkin Williams Road, Fenton, MO 63026
    (636) 343-8363

He's fair and true, yet details the bill and well charges you for it.

I'm unsure with University Foreign Car. They sold me a 1979 Volvo 245 DL with a bad engine (ran dry of oil and #3 connecting rod on crank bearing spun), yet as part of the price, I worked to rebuild the engine. Paul Hamilton had the drunk machinist work on the #3 connecting rod. It was a fiasco yet I had to move to NorCally in 1987. I got screwed in the deal. So, I can't advocate University Foreign Car.

There may be one or two independents not listed here.

Good luck in St. Loogey. The town of my manufacture. Hate the heat, crappy dating, crappy people, segregation, racism, classicism (I'm richer than you or merely appear that way), pollution, yet radio KDHX FM 88.1 and the music scene as as good as any large U.S. city.

www.stltoday.com is perhaps the very best big city daily newspaper. The new layout is truly nice.

    Questions?

    Good luck.

John D. McGurks (www.mcgurks.com) - another great St. Louis place when the Irish Brigade are in town or any time if you love traditional music.

Thank you so much! Yes I tried University he cuts no deals but since I flunked the safty check here in St Louis I ran back to Lexington Ky Meadowthorpe Volvo and had everything done for so much less. Thanks for the names. I will will use your first suggestion. St Loogey, OK anyplace is better than Harlan KY and I enjoyed that place for 4 years. My Best Regards

        Not been to Harlan, KY.

So I can imagine St. Louis is better for everything.

Flunked the safety inspection? So, brake pads or ?

Welp, glad it worked out for you.

Yeah, even independent auto repair shops have raised rates to keep pace with the dealership auto repair rates. As the dealers bill buy the service manual repair time estimates (and not the time to do the work as that is considerably less, usually, yet not a better quality repair), you'll find it impossible for a mechanic to do you favors.

Come to Krapkane, WA, another might small whitey trash town. Let some neighbors no you can repair about anything. They want you to do the work for free.

        cheers,

        dud.
