Original 91 940 stereo 900 1991

I'm replacing my 91 940 stereo and was wondering if anyone was looking for a mint condition original stereo for their car cheap.

    Original 91 940 stereo - updated with picture 900 1991

Ok the radio is out now. They left the amp in the car so if you need an amp it might be hard for me to get it out.
I am in Toronto Ont Canada.

I tried to upload a picture but I don't think it worked, you can email me at james@jtps.net for a picture.

What model radio or head unit?

Show an image, not for me, for someone that may want it.

Your probably has the 4x20 remote amp under the dash to the left of the steering column.

    cheers,

Means you may have the 4 x 40 watt amp. Your head unit is probably something like an SC-810 or around there. These come with a 2x20 watt amp that I think powers the dash mount mids and tweeters. A few different wiring diagrams for this set up from the http://www.volvowiringdiagrams.com/?dir= depending on model and sedan or wagon and year.

When you look up in your dash after you removed all that knee bolster and vent stuff, you should see two screws securing the bottom of the amp to a bracket. Remove the two screws with a 9mm or 8mm socket or spanner. The amp comes out. The amp is connected to the radio line level out via a six-pin DIN terminates cable and then you have the rectangular connector that brings power in and amp power out to the connected speaker.

I found one of these and it was well fried. Like all Volvo stock amps, these use monolithic IC power amps and cannot be bridged or the other thing people do. One power out can drive one or sometimes two speakers depending on the factory set up.

        Hope that hepkats.

        cheers,

Don't got no kitty ever for that grey, or green, or denty red Volvos 240.
