repair odometer, which vendor for part? 200

I've seen IPD with a 25 tooth gear and another guy with a two-piece replacement kit. Which one would be preferable if the 25 tooth gear is broken?

After you replace the gear(s), spin all the gears by hand. They should all work smoothly and the odometer should register and start rolling. When you put the cluster back together, make sure all the contacts from the odo/speedo are put back in properly. You'll see male pins and female connectors that have to be connected. It's not just a matter of slapping it back on and going. Hope that helps.

my odometer gear broke in half. I used J B Weld to put it back together. It has held 12,000 miles.

I bought the two gear set and just replaced the broken one small one. Two months later back in to do the large one. Check the solder joints on the board for cracks and make sure you hunt around for the broken tooth and pull the little broken bit out of the unit.

I was very happy with http://www.odometergears.com/

Did my own car (gone 10K miles since the repair, no problems) and a friend's (gone 3K, no problems). I replaced both parts, gear and "pod"--not just the soft gear.

Thanks for the input. I'll order from odogears.com and fix it up, hopefully once and for all
