Howdy all.

I replaced my 240's fuel filter today, after noticing some fuel had leaked from the pump. It looked like it might have come down between the feed line and main(Bosch) pump inlet.

What's the most common failure point for leaking at the pumps?
I'm in CA, so 0 rust. Also, I am happy to say that my prolonged missing on startup is gone after replacing the filter. Must have been pretty dirty.

Check too, the condition of your "fuel line coupler". Did you get the banjo fittings snugged down on the new crush washers sufficiently?

Alternatively, you might want to look for a possible crack/leak in the plastic tube fitted to the banjo fittings.

I just changed my fuel filter and ended up breaking one of the nipples on the banjo fitting that the plastic tubing connects to.

Good suggestion. I think it's the pump to filter tube. Seems to be leaking, but I snugged it down a bit more. It was visibly wet yesterday when I replaced the main pump inlet line, despite all-new crush washers.

Does the check valve ever fail and leak?

Sometimes the oring that seals the pump case to the pump leaks.

The crush washers are critical to seal the assembly.

Make sure that all sealing surfaces are very clean and use only new seals on reassembly.

I've had the clamp that holds the large fuel hose that goes from the tank to main pump fail at the pump.

Check the condition of the metal pipes of the in-tank pump. They tend to rust out. Lift the carpet in the trunk and remove the access plate to check them.
