Hot start is back 900

It has been a mild winter. And with that mild winter went the hot start issues. Though an exhaust valve gasket was replaced, and the alternator bushings need to be replaced for the fan belt to stay on track, there have been no hot start issues. Til today. The sun beats down on the hood, no start. I open the hood, and wait. Any ideas? No ilssues since oct., 7 months. I thought it was gone.

When you say no start does the car turn over.? I had the same type of problem and it was the starter motor. The fix was easy i put a hot start relay on the starter motor. My car wouldnt turn over. It drove me crazy car would cool down and start up fine.

I did a major tune-up with new wires, she was due. It was alright for a couple weeks. But that did not fix. I called my brother who does the work, and he told me the same thing. So he talked me thru the repair. I jumpstarted the car with a vice wrench. Since that worked, I disconnected the little green wire on the solenoid, and the connection was a little corroded. So I sandpapered, scraped and greased it up. Reconnected and it starts up every time,. Success after three years!

I have no idea what an exhaust valve gasket is, but don't think it's related to the starting issue.
Alternator bushings/belt staying on, I take it is the rubber mounts to the auxiliary support. If those are so bad that the belt comes off, well...
But again, not related to starting.
Go over Bruce's 'start-run' for your model ign, determine if it's lack of fuel or lack of spark, and go in the direction indicated.

I meant the gasket at the exhaust manifold, that caused the clicking sound. I'm guessing it was a spark problem, because it started right up when jumped. I get lazy and let it be. I have a basic engine. Thanks I'll look over star/run section.
