Repro bumpers 544 444-544

Good morning, looking for a quick opinion on repro bumpers for 544 (1965). I see Group Harrington produces stainless bumpers out of Vietnam. They make an Export version (for USA with the towel bars) and a Euro version (no towel bars). I'm leaning towards the Euro version as they are quite a bit less expensive, and I'm not in love with the towel bar look.

The question, does anyone know if the Euro version bumpers bolt on to an Export car (i.e. are the bumper brackets the same)?

Thanks and have a great day!

I think you are referring to the overrider bars, sort of like the VWs used to have.
On the 122 the overriders bolt directly to the bumper, not the bumper mounts.
I would imagine the PVs are the same.

Hello,

Some call them towel bars, some call them America bars, but I prefer overrider bar.

Both style of bumpers use the same 2 brackets that bolt to the frame to hold the main bumper assembly.

The original overriders bolt to the bumper ends and to the tops of the bumper guards, but they also have a pair of mounting bars that goes through holes in the front fenders and bolt to the frame.

The stainless steel reproduction bumpers from Vietnam with an overrider bar do not have the mounting bars that go through the fenders and they only attach to the bumper ends and bumper guards.

Eric,

Have you seen the vietnamese bumpers from Harrington / PTT?

Just wondering whether got any comments on the quality of the bumpers?

I'm in the market for a couple of bumper sets.
