re: 87 245 floorpanel rust problem 200 1987

Hi All

Just joined! And here is my first question. How bad is bad? I got rust spots growing very fast (listed below). I took welding class last winter. I feel comfortable using a MIG welder but where do I start and how? Or should I just get it fixed by pro. Thank you!

center bearing support area
rear driver side floor panel
passenger floor panel
passenger door sill

If you need panels try Fixmyrust.com for floor pans. That is where I got mine for my 79 262c.I had a body shop weld it in.If you have tools and skills repairing your rust should not be too hard if you take your time. You can buy the metal by the sheet and fix a lot of stuff.Look here for inspiration, see if yours compares.Good luck.

Thank you! I didn't know they make prefabricated parts. I would love to fix it by myself, may be I should take few more welding/plasma cutting classes before I start. For now, I stuffed with wheel bearing grease (I was very desperate...) Love your 262.

Hey if that rust bucket on the Turbobricks thread can be repaired I don't think you will have any problem.Slow and steady.
