electrical issue with brakes 200

I have a 85 244 and every time i step on the brakes, it kills my engine so i have to take the Any ideas They work fine if i touch the two wire to the swith together but if i use the switch, i can run the car. I just put a new switch in and same problem.

Sure it ain't vacuum? Try with booster line plugged?

Have you done anything under the dash lately?

Have you or anyone else done ANYTHING to the car?

I would suspect that you may be pinching or shorting a wire near the brake pedal.

The other thing you could do is to check and clean any grounds that you can find - especially any involving the ignition system. Check the ground connections between the engine and body - add one if you have to.
