Volvo 240 Leather seat rebuild... 200 1983

I have a 1983 242 Turbo with black leather seats. The leather in okay condition, but who ever owned the car before me must have weighed a lot more as I feel like I'm sitting on the floor. I would like to change the foam out with some other foam that I have off of some seats with really bad leather but nice foam. I have rebuilt cloth seats before, but have never rebuilt the leather ones with the buttons. any ideas on how these isasemble? Thanks for any information, Nick.

The buttons are held in place with a piece of wire. You'll be happy when you fix these so they don't catch on your jeans.

A man walks into his bedroom and sees his wife packing a suitcase. He says, "What are you doing?"
She answers, "I'm moving to Las Vegas. I heard ladies-of-the-night there get paid $400 for doing what I do for you for free."
Later that night on her way out the wife walks into the bedroom and sees her husband packing his suitcase.
When she asks him where he's going, he replies, "I'm going to Vegas, too. I want to see you live on $800 a year."

Have you looked at http://cleanflametrap.com/tony/index.htm for general seat rebuilding procedures.

I have leather too and found that I could get buttons made at a local auto upholstery store. Just in case the buttoms are damaged when removing them.

The website also shows foam being repaired with heavy canvas.

IIRC there are holes in the foam where the buttons are located. There should be a bar/rod/something running thru the holes. This is where the buttons attach to.A little PIA to do but doable.Be carefull removing the buttons,if the loop on the button breaks that's it,you can't reattach it.Just proceed with caution.
