Idles Good, Engine Dies on Acceleration 200 1993

My 93 240 has an issue on low pressure days. Sometimes she doesn't like to start up, but its mostly that engine stumbles and dies on acceleration. I can rev the engine in park and nuetral and there is no stumble, only when I engage the transmission. Sometimes I lean toward lack of fuel, but am leaning more and more toward vacuum leak. I know there are some vacuum issues because the heater flap/door never totally closes. Is there a relation. Fuel pressure regulator and Throttle Position Sensor changed summer before last.

This situation ussually only occurs in the morning on damp, humid days. Does not come about after car has been sitting all day at work.

Help greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Even if new, pull your distributor cap and check for moisture. Wipe it out, spray with WD-40, wipe out, dry, coat bottom ridge with dielectric grease if you have some (it would be a good idea to coat the inside of all plug boots also).

OK...changed all wires, plugs, yada yada. Ran pretty well all summer on account of not much rain. Humidity and rain back now and she's getting fussy. Ignition stuff was done in April so I don't think that as all gone to pot already. I ran the OBD-I this afternoon. I got a 1-1-3 and 1-2-3 which are fuel delivery issues, but the check engine light is not on. Is it possible that my intank fuel pump is on the way out? I will admit that I have a rigged O2 sensor, but have never really had problems with it. The connections could be quite cruddy though. I also haven't cleaned the throttle body in a few years, so I will probably do that this weekend.

    All help greatly appreciated.

Been a little while on plugs and wires. Never replaced rotor, but probably should do so. I cleaned everything else when trying to diagnose what ended up being RPM Sensor. Man, I don't ever want to have to change that sensor again.

Might as well change plugs and such while all greasy from changing control arm bushings and such this weekend.

When was the last time the throttle body and idle air control valve were cleaned?

Fix the vacuum leaks and replace the cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires with quality Bosch or Bougicord parts.

The damp, humid mornings part makes me think of ignition problems. When was the last time you replaced the rotor, cap, and wires? The size of vacuum leak that might exist within the climate control system is small enough that it would likely not cause this symptom.
