Hi everybody

I found what I think is a light socket between the drivers seat and the passenger seat but I can't find where it goes,does anyone know what this connection is called.

    On mine, there is a box between the seats. It might be the one that goes on the very back of that box. It faces the rear seats. It has a red lens. Mine only comes on for a few seconds when you start the car. Thats the only thing I can come up with.

      Could be as stated, the rear light that illuminated the Seatbelt warning lens for the rear seat passengers (just above the ashtray). Mine in my 740 wagon (1991) is actually sticking out from under my center console as I forgot to put it back in it's spot when I put things back together.. good luck :)
