Hi RJ,

Yes Lowe's or Home Depot cuts keys on the Axxess key cutter, but.....

I've had them cut and they either didn't work at all, or they are kind of sloppy, where you have to jiggle the key, or pull it out slightly to make them work. Make sure they clean up all the edges, and before you put that extra key in a safe place, check to make sure it works properly. If the key doesn't work, they'll just cut you another one.

In fact, at the Lowe's here, they have two machines, and one does a better job than the other and gives you a greater likelihood of success on the new key.

From a key blank, correct? Not the VIN.

$1.75/ key is ridiculous - you wouldn't think it'd cover the blank.

(I didn't know lowe's cut keys)

no, not from the VIN. the car only came with one key (original Volvo type) so
i was very concerned about losing it etc etc. they used that as the master to make the new ones.
