Any one have buy a Scan Tech Tail light (sedan) lately? I have a light that developed a crack after I was rear ended that the insuarace will replace but since volvo no longer makes that one the body shop is planning on using a recycled (AKA Junk Yard) part. Listing 125$ for the Junk yard Part.

I am well familiar with Scantech poor track record body was hoping they couldn't screw up a light too badly. At least it might be better than a JY one.

Much has been written about aftermarket tail lights and their inferior quality on these boards.

The lamps and lenses simply do not hold up compared to the factory Volvo stuff.
Purchase these parts used from someone on these boards or from someone on ebay. My ebay used Volvo lenses are perfect.

Paul, I stripped my '87 744 this summer. I have the orig left tail light assembly which I'll sell you for $70, plus shipping by USPS. I can take pics, if you'd like.

How could a junk yard light cost $125.That is what they sell for new/aftermarket!

I think I'd prefer a junkyard factory light over an aftermarket non-OEM supplier.
Especially ScanTech. Although in fairness, I've never used one of their lights. But I haven't been impressed with the quality of ScanTech's other products.

The OP didn't mention year, if it's 90 up I can sell one in excellent condition for $75-85 shipped, depending on location.
