Clutch sizing 700 1991

I was reading somewhere (VADIS I think) that there were 2 different sized clutches for 740's. 228mm & 216mm I for the clutch pressure plate disc diameter.
Is one the M46 B230FT and one the M47 B230F?

Cheers

I believe the turbo clutches are a little bit larger diameter.

No, M47 and M46 IC turbo clutch discs are all 228. Early turbo M46 and non-turbo (prior to intercoolong in the 240) were 8 1/2.

Maybe, but I've only seen 9" (228 mm). Both the M46 and M47 with the stepped flywheel (all newer M 46 turbos and M47 cars) use the same stepped flywheel with or without CPS holes. The clutch discs may differ but not in diameter, in my experience.

Well I have a spare clutch that is 228mm. I have to finish my stainless adapter
that holds the slave cylinder. The clutch felt a bit mushy, I guess that was the slave fixture wiggling. I bought it with the slave cylinder casting broken and the PO bolted in a strap to fix the slave in place. The setup let go a couple of days ago so I decided to fix it properly.

      thanks
