Has anyone else noticed the sudden scarcity of used RWD Volvos?

I've been watching a 400 mile radius of Craigslist listings for some time now, partially because I was shopping for cars and partially because... I'm just interested in the market for RWD Volvos.

My theory is that, because of the economy, good used cars are now at a premium. If you're looking for a good used car, you can't do much better than, for example, an $1,800.00 940 that's in good condition.

Over the past 6 months, the supply seems to have dried up.

FWIW.

That combined with the scrap rate. Don't forget that the newest four-banger RWD Volvo dates from 1995, which is seventeen years ago. Rust, accidents, deer, and poor maintenance take their toll.
