Front Suspension-Control Arm Bushing Question 200

Hi

I recently have been gearing up to replace control arm bushings (rear most-large bushing) on both my 90 244 and 92 245.

I already have 2 Lemfoerder brand bushings for the 245 that I bought from FCP Euro.

Today when I was gathering info and part numbers for an order I need to place at Tasca I noticed that when I looked up the large control arm bushings that there is a LEFT one and a RIGHT one-two different part numbers for each.

So is there really a LEFT control arm bushing and RIGHT control arm bushing?

I didn't see anything on FCP Euro about a left and a right.

Thanks
Travis

Front Suspension-Control Arm Bushing Question 200

The bushings that FCP sells are the exact same Boge bushing that is equivalent to the right side bushing 123778 that Tasca sells. I've bought from both places. Lemforder grinds off the Boge name on the bushing from FCP where as the Tasca ones have both Boge and Volvo on them. Your fine with the 2 right side bushings from FCP. Its common practice to just use the right side bushing on both sides.

ANSWER Front Suspension-Control Arm Bushing Question 200

Yes, they're different. There are at least 2 threads in the archives about it. I use either on either side but some here dispute that I think.

      Thanks John.

In all the time I've spent on here I hadn't seen the topic come up.

After reading the old posts I will just go ahead and use the Lemfoerder ones on the 245. And order the left and right ones from Tasca to use on the 244 when I place my order.

Front Suspension-Control Arm Bushing Question 200

I was amazed when I noticed it on FCP Groton's site. I'd been working on 240s for a while and was ignorant of the L-R difference.

I also didn't know re Pageda's comment that the right one was more HD. It's the driver's side that I typically replace.

I believe the right side is more heavy duty (more rubber), you can use the HD on both sides with no problems.
