240 fuel pump relay location?

Spent 30 minutes lying on my back beneath the dash of my '92 240 searching for the fuel pump relay this afternoon. Could not find a relay with the same colored wires as shown in Bentleys. Can anyone point me to the location of the fuel pump relay and/or what it looks like? (I know, a relay looks like a relay but is the fuel pump relay typically one color or another?) Any help would be appreciated.

Tony

240 fuel pump relay location?

Dave is a decade off, having told you what to look for in an 83-84 Lh 2 car. Your relay is white plastic and mounted at the ignition control box up in the passenger's knee well. Take down the felt and look up at the firewall. Once you see it, it will seem very obvious.

240 fuel pump relay location? 200 1992

Here's a picture of the injection relay above the passenger's toes on a 91. The relay case was molded in white plastic if original, but many have been replaced in the intervening 20 years; at least one I've found was in a black plastic case. Wire colors should match Bentley, however one must be on the right page in Bentley.

You should find the relays on the passenger side--remove the over the knee pad. They should be clipped to a bracket on the inside firewall - about where a passengers toes would be. Unless the '92 is different than earlier models you'll find two square relays--about an inch and a half square. -- Dave

240 fuel pump relay location?

hello,
I have a 1990 245. Havent started it lately. Now, it wont start. Put some fuel and some gasline antifreeze in it. Engine turns over like a champ, yet doesnt fire. I took the rotor cap off and cleaned the contacts, checked fuses, they seen fine. Could it be the fuel pump relay? Any Ideas would be great. Thanks,
Lachlan.

240 fuel pump relay location?

I have two 92 240s, assembled at plant #1 Gothenburg, Sweden.
Each vehicle has only one relay attached to the ICU bracket.
This relay looks like the FcpGroton picture of a fuel pump relay but the wires match the Bentley 217 Main Relay.
I suspect that the two relays have been combined.
Can anyone confirm this?
It clicks when ignition switch is turned on.
Cannot find a relay anywhere with wires matching the Bentley fuel pump relay.
