Interesting tire chart... looks like my Blackjack players guide book :)
But I like it!
That said, issues are the fenders themselves, upper spring mounts at rear (my experience is with a '65, so slightly different rear suspension, but I think the upper rear spring mounts are about the same), rear part of inner fender (only plays into large diameter tires), front steering.
For a street car, I'd never go wider than a 7" rim, and I would never go wider than a 205 section width. Front or rear.
You could probably go a tad wider... but man, you'll lose more in drivability than what you gain in performance in my opinion.
If your car has it's original wheels, they should be 5.5" wide. You can get away with 205 section width on those. I recently shod the new ES with 205/65-15 on stock rims and it works fine, they fill out the fender area nicely, and it drives fine.
On my '65 1800s, I'm also running 205/65-15 on 7" Jeep wheels with no spacers. That took some modification to those upper spring mounts, as well as that front inner fender area as I recall. And they do rub occasionally on the outer fenders over suspension limiting bumps. But overall, it drives fine.
Keep in mind, brake calipers can be an issue too with some rims.
Don't get crazy, and test fit before you buy if possible.
And happy Halloween!
