940 fuse panel 900 1994

Hello,
Just finished replacing the fuse panel in my wifes 940 with one from the junk yard. I think if I had it to do again I would pull all the fuses and carefully pry the face plate off the panel by inserting a tiny screwdriver in the slots provided, then proceed to repair/replace only the connectors that are burnt. It seems to me this would have been easier and faster.Am I missing anything?

I'm not sure you're missing anything. Sounds logical to me, if you can take the thing apart without ruining any plastic locking tabs or whatever, changing just the overheated metal parts would be the way to go. However, I don't know.

I'm merely surprised you found one in the yard that wasn't burned just like yours. Seems like every 7/9 car I've ever looked at (yard walking) either had that panel missing or a charred one hung out of the ashtray. Congratulations on finding a good one!

      Hi Art,
Maybe we could salvage some good connectors out of those burnt panels to repair the old ones.I've got my old one apart and it looks doable.
