Anyone else having trouble? I'm currently using my backup 7 year old Powerbook. Perhaps Steve Jobs passing has something to do with it.

I am using a 10 year old imac and have the same problem - I just click on the box and type my name in - even though I cannot see it, it works.

Also

I set my preferences to threaded but it does not work

Often I cannot back out of a thread

Who knows what else

Nah, Steve is not lashing out from the grave. It happens with smaller/lower resolutions screens...especially if you do not use IE 8.0 or newer (and why would you...it sucks).

I just figured it was pay back from Job's ghost, for trashing his Iphones...
Anyway once I shuv another hard drive into my Think pad, things should get back to normal...

Would not be an old R50/R51 Thinkpad would it? We had a string of Hard Drive failures on those in Iraq...it ended up a bad batch from Toshiba.

I have three Thinkpads sitting next to me from work...I have to decide between an R61, R400 and an aging T61. The R61 has the least memory, a Centrino processor and XP. The R400 has the most memory a single-core, and windows but an SD 14" normal aspect ratio screen. The T61 never even knew there would be multi-core processors but has a decent Radeon graphics card, 4 GB memory and Windows 7 plus Office 2010...who thought it was good idea to upgrade a 6-year old laptop in a corporate environment?

Mike

These are vintage T30's. I now have 5 of them. All but one have had mother board issues pop up within the last year. I thought giving up sugar in my coffee would help spare #4. Presently I have 3 working hard drives with XP that I will juggling in #5
Whats ironic and sad as well, I still use my Tecra That I purchased in 1997. Now only used off line hooked up to a Jaz drive. The Tecra survived many a cargo holds, even Seattle's Best couldn't kill it.
My best hope for an upgrade will be the new Tecra that I bought girl friend's for her birthday last year. Unfortunately my tract record prohibits such expenditures.
