Replace radiator support. Disconnect A/C hose. How. 200 1988

I want to replace the radiator support since someone busted it at a parking lot. But to replace it also involves disconnecting an A/C hose going from the drier( I think) to the radiator. I've red that it is high pressure in those hoses and things can get messed up if I do things wrong here. The car is imobile so I can not go to a shop to get it depressurized. How should I go through replacing the support?

Just replaced the rad support on my '86 and came upon the same problem. I just notched out some of the sheet metal enough to allow the hose to slip out and back into the new support. Good luck.

Well ...do not try and break it loose B4 you release the pressure. I did this one time, and it actually blew off a part ..scared me pretty good.

That and it is illegal to release freon into the air. Probably best to get a shop to pull the freon out with the option of installing it back in (after pulling it down) ...after the repair.

IF you do remove it yourself ..make sure you have a good flare wrench(s). A good wrench or set, mind you. The cheap ones spread.

    I wish you well.
