Failed emissions need tips S90-V90 1998

failed on hydrocarbons at 1771 rpm.
limit 54ppm. Reading 92ppm
passed in all other areas
250,000km. Never failed before.

I checked all of the vacuum lines. I replaced most of them least year. They appeared to be all tight

I think i found a sticky canister purge valve. Now it regulates on and off every couple of minutes. Could be the first time i am ever hearing this valve. It may have been ceased for years. Would this repair be a help?

I also have a few holes on my rear muffler. Nothing loud but a few perforations around the clamp. One in my front muffler too. Does this have an effect?

Any other ideas?
Thanks

    Thanks for your replies.
I passed my e-test second time around.
51ppm HC on a limit of 54ppm. All the other reading improved too so I am guessing the canister purge valve repair made a difference
Most of the maintenance items you listed have been changed in the last 1000km.

I was occasionally getting code 442 (small leak) evap. Replaced the gas cap but still came back. I am thinking the canister purge valve is still sticking a bit and causing the code cause it came on yesterday.

I have a live data reader so i can monitor my o2 mili-Volt readings

EVAP Small leaks are common. Check the J elbow at the Charcoal Canister. Plus I would check all hoses and clamps especially at the tank. Any discoloration can point to vapor leak, which triggers Small Leak codes. Check also the Rollover Valve at the Vapor Line at the tank and make sure it is standing upright.

Do you smell fuel in the trunk

First suggestion is a good tune-up by replacing spark plugs, air filter, cleaning the throttle body, and an oil change.

Beyond that you may be looking at a failing O2 sensor - most likely the front one.

Slight leakage from the rear muffler should have no emissions effect, but could be a safety item (carbon monoxide getting into the cabin).
