1964 544 possibly for sale 444-544

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing the '64 Volvo 544 that I have. I have had it for a while now and have been tinkering with it ever since. I am just putting some feelers out if anyone would be interested in it. The drivetrain, suspension, fuel system and brakes are all practically brand new.

Tires; 5 brand new tires, less than 50 miles on them.
Brakes; All brand new, less than 50 miles on them. rebuilt master cylinder, new hoses, new steel lines, new wheel cylinders, new shoes, the whole braking system has been redone.

Suspension; Front; replaced lower A arms, new bushings, needs shocks.
Rear; needs shocks

Drivetrain; +-175,000 miles on it. B18 motor with standard 4 speed. Rear in good shape, trans does not slip, clutch still has alot of life left.

Fuel, replaced fuel tank. new fuel filter.

Body; good in some spots but not so good in others. Where the usual rust is, it is there in mine as well. All of the glass is there, and all are in great shape except the windshield, as there was a leak in the gasket for the windshield and water got between the two panes. (Only in some smaller areas, but noticeable still)

I am seeing if there is an interest in the car as a whole, I would rather keep it but I (insert excuse here), you know the deal.

Let me know, I do have pictures and will try to get them up soon.

Let me know if you can view this, I tried to take all security off of that album.

This album is kind of out of date now. And it is backwards, The oldest photos are at the end. You can see the progression of it from rust to paint. I have fixed the floor board with some metal, but it is a temporary fix until I (or possibly you) can put some substantial metal in there.

My apologies for the mix up. I had written down everything I wanted to say in the initial post but when I went and reread the post, I felt as though I was reading a novell. Some of the most important facts were edited out when submitted.
I will start the sale at $1200.00

I have about $1200 in the vehicle total (give or take) about half is in the tires, 5 brand new tires, around $600.00 mounted, balanced, and of course cost of purchase. They are mounted on the original 15" steelies and I do still have the Beauty rings. The center hub caps were rusted out when I got the car.

The body is in rough shape. Front fenders have rust in them, the drivers floorboard has rust in it, the front frame horns are almost rusted out, the passenger side, in front of the rear fender, behind the door is rusted through. The body is straight with a few spots of bondo from the previous owner.

One of the reasons that I am selling the car is the front frame horns are not in good shape at all. IF you were to purchase this car, they would have to be replaced. The engine mounts are new, The front suspension is in good shape, just the front frames.

This car would have to be towed as of right now.

I am in Sykesville, MD; just west of Baltimore.

Not all of us live close to Maryland, so even one picture would be worth a thousand. Would you consider the car capable of a 1,000 mile road trip? Rust "in the usual places" does not describe the extent of the damage and amount of body work involved. A ballpark figure would be nice - you can always go higher or lower when you do advertise it.

I like what you have done so far.

You might have better luck if you say where you are and what you hope to get out of it. If you say it's $50 lots of folks will be highly interested, if it's $1,000,000 you may not have as much interest.
