exhaust merge collector 120-130

Hi all, i have been pondering some exhaust issues. I have tweeked my 2000 engine out to 2130,head work (nothing serious ),R cam, decked block, twin dcoe webers. The exhaust manifold is the standard injected manifold. I am adjusting the down pipes so the runner lengths will be equal and would like the benefit of your experience with respect to a merge collector design. I would like to retrieve some low down torque/ wide torque band and wonder if anyone has a tried and true setup on their cars or is the feeling still to go with standard volvo down pipe design. It seems that most of you say this is effective as is. Look forward to your thoughts. Regards David

Paul, yes we degreed the cam and 45's. With this in mind, how long should the collector be and what taper. It is interesting to see the shape of the new v-performance tri-y collector.

Are you using a B20E engine pipe? It's 2.125" OD. I'd leave your secondary downpipes standard & adjust the length of your 2.125" collector pipe which you could then increase to 2.5" for the rest of the way if it's a road car.

Did you degree your R cam in? It may be too big without a good head.

40 or 45 DCOE's?
