Turn signals, headlights, power windows, moonroof, fog lamps all stop functioning at the same time. My car is a 96 960 sedan. They sometimes become functional again while I am driving. They seem to stop functioning when the car is parked with the engine off. I have checked battery connections and several other connections.

I have found that it is the ignition switch contacts, replace the switch and all should be well again.

Quick update:

This is my dad's car. It turned out to be a bad ignition switch - in case anyone else has this type of problem.
