Dashboard change out 700

My daughter's 1987 744T had as badly a cracked dashboard as you'll find in a 700 series. She helped me change it out, and it took us just under three hours. Shown below is the old dash, and the new dash installed.

I still have my son's 1995 944T to do. He is changing from beige to gray interior. That will take a little more time with dual airbags to deal with.

    Hi John,

Nice post. How long would it take you the next time?

    :-) Bill

Probably two hours, forty five minutes. I know where everything is, but there is a lot to remove and replace.

Yes, I did remember to remove the VIN tag and install it on the replacement dashboard.

"New" dash or merely a good example from the yard? How much if new?

This is one from the Pick-n-Pull. It looks like new. This is from a 1990 model year. While 1990 is the latest model year for this style of dash, the 1990 model year seems to age better than earlier model years. I paid $25, but current pricing for a used one is about $50.

My 90 745 dash has but one crack, right in the middle. I opted for the dash cover.
